How can I buy just a license key for Office 2007?
philasophos asked:
I have the student edition of Microsoft Office 2003, including the disk. I am still a student, and have downloaded the trial of the student edition of Office 2007. I’d like to upgrade permanently, but is there a way to buy just the license, and have it available immediately?
P.S. I don’t mind installing it myself - it’s just that I’ve heard it’s less expensive to buy just a license. Even microsoft’s site tells you this, but I can’t find a place that sells just the license.

Sorry to have to tell you this but you need to buy the whole office 2007. After you buy it you can only use it twice (Meaning install register, then only one more time if have too.)
As this happen to me last summer. Maybe take it into a computer store where they will charge you to install.
Being a student you can get a student discount from different sites. There are quite a few if you goggle student discounts. I don’t know why you can’t order from there and when you get your copy, just convert to the whole version when prompted to. Use the key that comes with the software you order.
If you need the instant gratification, download open office instead. You can find it at and it will give you NEARLY 100% compatibility with office. And, guess what? It’s FREE! You have to agree to the licensing terms, but you don’t spend money. One thing to remember about it - if you are sharing files with your friends on office, you have to save the file in MS Office formats. Otherwise, you’ll have to play by Microsoft’s rigorous rules.
Good luck.
