How can space be inserted only between columns on a MS Word table, and not between rows?

Jim G asked:

I bought these cheap-o Christmas lables and I’m trying to create a table in MS word that has 2 columns and 6 rows. It is supposed to have .13″ spacing between columns, but none between rows. I figured out, through Table Properties how to create a spacing, but it is being applied to the spacing between the columns and the rows.

If it was me, I would create a column that takes up the space between the two columns. So you would end up with a three-column table. The first column you would have info in, the second would just be to make space and the third would be for info too.

This may mean that you have to change the spacing you changed back to zero, otherwise the 2nd column may be too big.
