Is it possible to download Microsoft Outlook 2003 and rung it alongside Office 2007?
anitaj asked:
Is it possible to download Outlook from Office 2003 and run it alongside Office 2007? Or, does it just make a total mess of things. Can the programmes run in parallel?

you might not be able to use some features that are new in 2007 but i don’t see any problem.

I use to have the home version of Office 2003 so as you know that included Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook. I then upgraded to Office 2007 Home and Student version, that includes Word, PowerPoint, Excel and OneNote. The 2007 version does not include Outlook as you know so Outlook 2003 remains on my computer and works just fine.

You can run them in parallel, but you need to make sure that when you install you don’t choose the ‘upgrade’ option and don’t select ‘remove previous versions’ option.
I assume you have a normal system, install Microsoft Office Outlook 2003 and choose the custom installation and only install Outlook. Do not install any of the other Office packages.
When you install Office 2007, it will probably ask you if you want to upgrade. Don’t go down this route, just choose the custom installation again, then only install Excel, Word and Powerpoint. Don’t select Outlook.
This will work because both versions of Office are installed in seperate folders but it won’t work if you try to install Outlook 2003 and Outlook 2007 on the same system. You can only install one or the other because there are some shared system components that exist in the system folder.
Microsoft Knowledgebase article 928091 details more about this and the install order that you should use:
